At Albisriederplatz, we are rebuilding the VBZ ticket office. The direct contract includes the interior fit-out and building technology: we are also bringing heating, cooling, electrical systems, and lighting up to date at the same time.
Onto the roof at three o'clock in the morning.
When no trams are running.
The sales outlet is located in the middle of the square, between tram tracks and overhead lines. In order to inspect the roof structure, we were on site at three in the morning, during the short window when no trams were running. Using a scissor lift, we moved beneath the overhead lines and onto the roof.
What we find there determines the planning of the interior design and building services. We approach both as a single project: conduits, lighting, and furniture find their place before the first wall is even erected.
