Kanadevia Inova generates energy from what others discard. For their headquarters on Hardturmstrasse in Zurich, we translate this ethos into space: around 900 workstations across approx. 9,900 m², planned with a conscious focus on embodied energy. As the general planner, we bring together the conversion, interior fit-out, and building services, and guide people through the change.
Drawing on what is already there.
What is already there counts.
The most sustainable surface is the one that does not need to be newly built. Before we design anything new, we ask what can remain. This applies to building components just as much as to building services: We optimize what is already there before we replace it. Every component that remains saves energy that has already been consumed once before.
A home for 900 people.
A work environment of this scale requires orientation. Clear pathways, recognizable zones, and spaces where teams can meet turn a large area into a cohesive house. People find their way around, yet never feel lost.
Step by step.
Construction takes place in phases. The new working world grows space by space, and each phase builds upon the previous one. To ensure people support the change, we accompany it with change management. Those who move into the new space know why, and find their way around from day one.
